Cynthia Bickley-Green received her PhD in art from the University of Georgia and teaches at East Carolina University. Her book Art Elements: Biological, Global, and Interdisciplinary Foundations was published by Kendal Hunt in 2011.

Ms. Bickley-Green says that “My still life paintings record visual puzzles that I take home after teaching an art studio class: depicting optical experience, representing forms and understanding others’ visual experiences. I take pleasure in using reproductions of artworks by Van Gogh, Escher, Kandinsky and other artists as backgrounds for my still life arrangements. The borrowed images become parts of my still life that I can rearrange and direct.”
